[AD – Gifted by Femme Luxe Finery]
I was getting so many emails from Femme Luxe Finery (even after unsubscribing from them multiple times), I figured I might as well just go right ahead and place an order. To be honest, I only ordered because I wanted new skinny jeans and thought I’d check out the quality of theirs.
You know how “cheap” jeans can be …

This is my third Femme Luxe Finery order. I wrote all about the first one right here, with one missing one item.
The second order … well, it didn’t turn up at all. #Awkward.
This one, my third, came with everything it was meant to, arriving at my door just two days after I ordered it.
Ordered @ 9 pm on Tuesday.
Delivered @ 11 am on Thursday.
They used Hermes, but for once, my delivery went without a single hitch. That never happens with Hermes. It must have been a miracle or something.
I ORDERED —
- Black Yves Saint Love Graphic Print Slogan Tee [Karla] – £5.99
- White Love YaSelf Print T-Shirt [Issy] – £7.99
- Dark Wash Ripped High Waist Skinny Jeans [Alicia] – £19.99
- Black Check Frill Pinafore Dress [Lilly] – £4.99
The two tees are cute and fairly self-explanatory, and I totally ordered the dress because it was giving me all of the Clueless vibes. (Anyone else get that too?) It was the jeans that I was most interested in, though. I’ve bought and worn many, many, many pairs of jeans that weren’t worth the material they were made with. They’re never the right size, or they fit in one place and not another. I’m a curvy, petite girl with half-sized legs. Help a gal out, please. And if someone could please tell me how I’m a size 8-10 in one shop but a 14-16 in another, that would great, thanks.
If I manage to find jeans that do fit, the zip constantly falls down, or I get weird clown-pants-crotch after a couple of wears, or the colour exchange makes me look like an extra from Eiffel 52’s “Blue Dabba Dee Dabba Da” video by the end of the day.
The struggle is real. So very real.
KARLA & ISSY
I didn’t expect a lot from the t-shirts, to be honest. They’re under £8 each; I kinda figured they’d be on the thin-material side. And they’re exactly that — thin and pretty transparent. My plan was to try them out along with the pinafore dress I also ordered, and a pinafore denim dress I already have in my closet.
I did have the cutest thick, corduroy skirt that I thought might go well – more of a winter outfit than a summer outfit, with boots and tights – but I ripped the butt clean open when I tried the skirt on the other day. I’m not a good enough seamstress to try and put that mess back together.
I’ll miss you, you beautiful skirt.
These tees wash pretty well. I’ve worn and washed both the white and black one at least three times, and they’ve not lost their shape, shrunk, or lost any of the wording across the front. I do need to say that the writing was a bit grainy on the white one straight out of the packaging, but that wasn’t the case with the black one, bizarrely.
The white tee [Issy] was in a size M/L (10/12), but the black tee [Karla] was a M/L (12/14). I honestly don’t think there are any differences between the two sizes. If there are any, I didn’t spot them.
There’s no zip on the skirt/dress, so there’s a moment where you’re pulling it on where it feels as though it could go either way: you might successfully get the dress on over your thighs … or you might tear the butt right out of it, just like I just did with that beautiful corduroy skirt.
Thankfully, mine was for the former. A couple of minutes of breathing-in later and the dress was successfully on. (Not that breathing in actually helps, of course.)
A few thoughts —
This is NOT the kind of dress I would wear if I were feeling bloated or less than fabulous. It’s figure-hugging for sure, and I almost wish that I’d gotten myself a size 12 rather than a size 10. I think the pinafore straps would be too big to fit me well in a larger size, though.
Did I find the time to sneak in an artistic vape shot for best-ecig.co.uk? Yes, yes, I did!
I don’t actually know where the straps are meant to go. Do they sit over the boob or to the side of the boob? I couldn’t really find a comfortable placement. If I moved them to sit on top of my boob they’d just slide right back to the side, and when they were down there it just felt like my boobs were constantly being squished together. I have a habit of wearing the straps down on the hips with dresses like this, including that denim pinafore dress I mentioned earlier. It saves all the ‘where do my boobs go?’ drama.
The jeans were 100% nicer than I thought they were going to be! Made from super soft and stretchy fabric, they were really easy to slide on and off, and I actually think they fit my body shape really well. I was NOT expecting that.
I got the jeans in a size 12 because I ordered them during a less-than-flattering time of the month, and I’m glad I did that. The 10 probably would have fitted, but I don’t think they would have been all that comfortable.
The length of the jeans worked okay for me too. I would have preferred them to have been a tad shorter, but it’s nothing I can’t work with. They weren’t TOO long, and I’m probably going to rock these with my absolutely fabulous cowboy boots, so I can roll up the bottoms and stuff ‘em in my socks without anyone noticing.
*That’s a short leg trick. I save the jeans that fit well but are a tad too long for boots days because I’m too lazy to send stuff back/rehem/wonderweb/whatever.
I have worn and washed these jeans a few times now, and although they haven’t faded or lost their shape yet, I do have some advice to throw your way …
Firstly, wash them before you wear them for the first time, just in case you don’t already do that. If you don’t, you’ll have blue legs, underwear, socks, etc. The colour transfer is ridiculous straight out of the bag.
Secondly, don’t wash throw these jeans in the machine with ANYTHING else for at least three or four washes. That’s how long the colour-run lasted for me.
FEMME LUXE FINERY – CONCLUSION
I’m actually really happy with this little Femme Luxe Finery package. I wouldn’t send any of it back, the sizing was pretty good, and I’ve worn everything except the pinafore dress a few times without any drama.
⭐️ The jeans get a solid 10/10 from me.
🌟 Let’s give the black tee 8/10 – it’s thinner than I thought it would be, but still really cute.
⭐️ The white tee gets 7/10 – it’s thin, like the black one, and the writing is grainer.
🌟 And the pinafore dress also gets 7/10 – I’m not really sure what to do with those straps and I could have benefitted from a zip or something, but it is a super cute dress. I’m sure I’ll find a reason to wear it.
